A. W. Tozer is an extremely thoughtful Christin writer, ranking with C. S. Lewis and Francis Schaeffer. His books, though short, are for the committed Christian. He deals with the relationship of God and man. For him, that relationship is far deeper than the easy believism of today's "Christian"He backs his treatises with Scripture. Prepare to growin Christ suddenly or throw the book away. There is no middle ground. God is who He is and for some reason Heloves us and wants fellowship with us, mere mortals. I strongly reccommend this collection of works by A.W. Tozer and hope it opens new vistas in your service and understanding of God.
Though he passed away in 1962, his writing is so fresh you'll think he's writing about Christians and the Church of today. Tozer presents his unique insights and intellect in such a way that you can't help but understand the true meaning of the bible and he challenges you that anything he states will be in the Bible and easily discovered by the average Bible reader.His words are powerful and you won't want to put the book (any of them he writes) down!If you read any of his books, good for you. If you choose only one; consider "Knowledge of the Holy", his finest and most thorough!I also recommend the letters from Brother Lawrence, a Frenchmen from the 1660's who jumped into the arms of the Lord early in life. His words and love for God are amazing in the theme of his writing being "Practicing the Presense of God", something all Christians need to do
Christian writers just don't write like this anymore. It isn't warm fuzzy fluff like so many authors today; nor is it difficult to comprehend. A. W. Tozer's writings are thought provoking and in many ways profound. Loved the practical, logical, Biblical and spiritual approach. I am amazed how the issues and subjects that he addressed back then are still vital issues in Christianity today. Loving this book. I will buy ore of A.W. Tozer!
A double portion of Spiritual insight and truth. Tozer may be a hard liner to modern day Christians but he tells the truth. Any book this man of God has written is as though the Holy Spirit has given His stamp of approval. If one is really ready or has totally submitted their all to Jesus, Tozer is a reliable guide to oneness with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Every church leader should read his works. He takes us to a time when mankind was hungry for God.
These two volumes have become a sort of traveling guide for me since I began reading. Tozer thinks with both feet planted firmly on the ground and both eyes set heartily on the Kingdom. He says plainly what I often can only think in the abstract must be true. Be warned: These two works are neither the sort of liberal fodder now being published that creates secondary religions and almost Christianities, nor the sort that pushes against the cold, steely facade of neo-Calvinism.In the words of that great theologian, Elvis Costello, his aim is true, striking as close to the bullseye as a man might be able. I believe that this book is what I needed at this time. It spoke directly to my heart.It's a devotional that should be acquired by the person who is seeking depth in their Christian wI'm convinced that as believers we do need to study the inspired writings of the men and women who have preceded us.
I have read several Tozer works - The Pursuit of God is my favorite; I think I've read it three times and will again as it is so rich.
This product has grammar and spelling issues. I wouldn't recommend this version of the book.
