The first edition quickly became the indispensable book for C++ software engineers looking for a helping hand or a thorough reference guide to templates.This new edition brings it bang up to date with the latest C++ standards and thinking. The examples are concise and illustrative.
Not only is this an authoritative explanation of C++ templates, this book also teaches other general C++ ideas in great depth.
Don't get me wrong. It is a great book on C++ templates. But the typesetting of the kindle edition is HORRIBLE - The font size of the code is too small; There is no TOC (painful for a book with so much content); Line break in code is sort of random; "Click to view code image" links are mostly broken. I can honestly say this has been the worst kindle book I've had.
Excellent and most comprehensive book on the subject. Very accessible and the authors are really knowledgeable on the subject. I recommend it
I have this book open at my desk every day. Just reading through the first half of the book really helped me learn advanced Modern C++ programming. A few weeks with some experimental projects and this book, and Templates were no longer a scary thing. I still am not a template meta programming expert of course, but together with this book (and stack overflow), I can manage.
It's an amazing book for a seasoned C++ developer.For a beginner it might be not easy to understand on first try, but it can be a good reference book.
This rating is for the formatting of the kindle edition. Too poor please update it. Otherwise its a great book.
Must-have book for advanced C++ developers.
