I was asked to beta read this journal, and I proudly did so! This is a well thought-through, profoundly sensitive, and creative idea to help those who find themselves needing some solace from diversity. Acceptance is the new unconditional love, but it must start with self. Ms. Evans has created a provocative tool to help with just that. Thanks to the author for putting her talents to such a loving good use!
I think this journal is a wonderful tool for transgender preteens to young adults to be able to write down and reflect on their transition experiences. I love the quotes and affirmations and all the positivity in there. The questions are great prompts for self knowledge and introspection. I like the open style of being able to journal as the mood strikes, rather than being held to a routine. I also really like the lists that help you to organize your thoughts. There are spiritual quotes in this journal, but without it being very religious, so I think it will appeal to people of various beliefs, too. I would definitely give this journal as a gift to a young person who is on the journey of transitioning.
