This one for Paris is a standout, and even though there doesn't seem to be an update on the 2015 edition that we recently used, it's a winner. T.O. doesn't neglect to include the iconic Parisian sites that all first-time visitors want to see, but it goes way beyond that and takes you to places that make you feel like an insider. It's also pretty strong on food and shopping--with the understanding that these two categories are the ones most subject to change from year to year.I like the organization of the book by Paris districts (arrondissements) and the reasonably detailed instructions on how to use the transport system.I hope that they do update this guide, though it looks like the Internet is killing off this kind of publication. Nevertheless, I go back to a first comment--we used the 2015 guide and found it still valid for almost everything except for current art exhibitions, which have to be checked locally anyway.If you think you'd like this guide, check out Olivier Magny"s books on Paris also ("Stuff Parisians Like").

John Grinder and Richard Bandlers collaboration in Trance Formations truly aims at the heart of what NLP is all about.While many other books and individuals have tried to capitalize upon the methodologies within NLP, this book is probably where a lot of the other books derived from. However, their speaking style is not difficult to comprehend and anyone wanting to learn NLP and you can do so very well with a solid study of this book.

If you master the skills in this book, anything you want for your life is within your grasp. A truly amazing book. So, what's in it?A three day seminar by Richard Bandler that teaches what some trainers charge $1600-$3000 to learn the same skills. First, I agree with the reviewers about this not being a beginner's book. You would probably get more out of reading a different hypontism book first.NLP is a somewhat controversial approach to hypnotherapy. The version presented in this book is not really a science so much as an art, which requires deep personal experience and understanding to make work. For this reason it will always be on the fringes of psychotherapy. This book is one of the classic books about NLP and therefore should be read critically by anyone interested in it or related topics (including how the brain processes language).I found the book to crystalize what I had learned from life experience and by watching others. Given that experience I think I got a lot out of the book, perhaps more than the authors intended. However I can understand how others might take wrong turns trying to see this as some sort of short-cut (when it is really a power tool). Having said this, I think if folks read the book critically, it will lead to greater insight.I wasn't sure about all aspects of the book. For example, while I understand the idea of symptom substitution as a possible good, I found the examples in the book to be questionable in the long run (while they might be good for transitional measures, they seem to help rob an individual of the need to address some circumstances directly).All in all, though, a very thought-provoking book and worth reading.

I picked this book because it said for the "Absolute Beginner". However, if you use the Kindle Edition, it does not give all the steps and the pics are clear. The author assumes to much and leaves out pertinent steps, instruction and images that the Absolute Beginner would need. Luckily it wasn't very expensive. I guess I got what I paid for. Great textbook for school!

Could have had more examples of concepts and explained better how each concept related to other concepts in Visual Basic.

This book is definitely not for a beginner in Access VBA. It is not clearly written and does not explain many points. Mr. Vine may be an expert in VBA, but he certainly is not an author who can share his knowledge with a "Absolute Beginner". Chapter 7 is totally unintelligible (I quit there...I was too frustrated to go any further.)His examples are crude and not complete...he gives a few lines of code and then stops there.Unfortunately, there don't seem to be many books on VBA for the beginner so I don't know what else to recommend. I just wish Mr. Vine had a qualified technical writer sitting by his side when he wrote this book...or a BEGINNER, who would tell him "I don't understand that".

I have found this book very useful. It has a logical flow and increased my abilities to program in Access VBA. I think anyone with a little exposure to VB could pick this up and make sense of it. I would now like to see the "intermediate" book...

I loved Sarah Mazor's newest book , "Queen Esther's Big Secret." There are many reasons why I found it educational and enchanting. One is that it's important for children to learn about other cultures and ancient history, as well. In this story we discover King Oy-Vey has a misunderstanding with his wife, Queen Vashti and the king orders his men to find a more appropriate queen who shows wisdom and kindness to everyone in his kingdom. King Oy-Vey's men search far and wide for exactly the right queen. When they choose Esther they have no idea about the natural talents of the new queen, or the secret she's hidden her whole life. Young readers will find the story fascinating and enchanting. They will want to read it over and over again. Both the story and the beautiful illustrations are extraordinary. She disappeared. The king became lonely and sent his guards to find a new wife. He chose Esther, a girl who was previously unknown. Esther hid a secret, she was the cousin of Mordechai, the Jew. When the wicked Haman develops a plot to kill all the Persian Jews, Esther reveals it to the king who kills Haman and rescinds the decree. The shy orphan girl becomes the heroine of her people.The four-line rhymes contained on each page are crisp and sharp. Zavadskyi’s illustrations are brilliantly colorful. Bought for a 11 year old and she really enjoy's the book. Gives pictures for all of hairstyles and styles are not too hard to follow. If giving as a gift make sure you buy lots of bobby pins and small rubber bands to go with it.

Purchased this for my 6-year-old daughter, along with a hairstyling doll head. She loves it, and learned how to make a regular braid on day one.

Both nieces have selected hair styles they want to try. I am not so sure their mother was not as pleased as there were more pressures on her to try different styles and she is currently working full time.
